Talk on workshop in 量子コンピューター「ハンズオン」 (Quantum computer “hands-on”) at Tokyo Innovation Base

Abstract

Q-STAR is an industry-academia-government consortium launched in 2021 to create new industries based on quantum technologies and to enhance Japan’s international competitiveness. This presentation outlines a human-resource development strategy designed to enable ten million people in Japan to make practical use of quantum technologies and to generate economic value on the order of 50 trillion yen by 2030. We describe multifaceted initiatives to cultivate quantum-skilled personnel—including the formulation of a common “Quantum Skill Standard,” the cross-sector SIP Education Program (featuring an introductory course and an OIST-based research-training track, a Global Leader Program linked to TQC 2024, and outreach events for the general public). Together, these efforts will establish an end-to-end pipeline that supports everything from R&D sites and supply chains to start-up creation, thereby accelerating the social implementation of quantum technologies.

This work was performed for Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI), Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP), “Promoting the application of advanced quantum technology platforms to social issues”(Funding agency : QST).
