Workshop on Quantum Sensors,“Diamonds are Being Used? Let’s Take a Look at Quantum Sensors!”

Date:

Talk on workshop in entangle moment - [quantum | earth | universe] × art (EXPO 2025 Theme Weeks) at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan

Abstract

This talk will explain the principles of NV diamonds, which emit red light in response to green light, in a way that is easy for elementary, junior high, and high school students to understand. We will also introduce sensors that apply this technology and their use cases. Furthermore, participants can experience quantum technology firsthand through a mystery game utilizing NV diamonds.

Supervision: Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST)

This event is being held as part of the Cabinet Office’s Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) with the theme of “Promoting the Application of Advanced Quantum Technology Infrastructure to Social Issues,” and aims to develop content that will widely disseminate the results of Q-LEAP. This project also includes content supported by the MEXT’s Quantum Leap in Photonics and Optoelectronics (Q-LEAP) JPMXS0118067395 grant.
