Abstract
OIST, Q-STAR, and Beyont are developing and putting into practice quantum human resources development programs aimed at establishing a new model of industry–academia collaborative education. This presents the progress of three programs. The Education Course Program offers an introductory course on quantum technology (10 lectures on 5 themes) for business professionals in roles from sales and management to development, along with Topical Short Courses, follow-up roadmap review meetings, and the development of online micro-content linked to the Quantum Literacy Standard. The Research and Technology Program hosts corporate researchers and engineers in OIST laboratories for six-month training. The Global Leader Program uses OIST’s international environment, for example through Industry Days at SQuIP 2026, to connect academia with Japanese industry.
(A part of) this research was conducted under the Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) 3rd Phase “Promoting the Application of Advanced Quantum Technology Platforms to Social Issues” by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation, Cabinet Office (Managing Agency: QST).
